Producer Note:

Fudge represents an important addition to our broodmare band, bringing in outside genetics, proven bloodlines, and the kind of disposition we value. She fits our program in a way that complements what we’ve built — not replaces it.

A mare that felt familiar from the start — and one that ties a lot of things together for us.

About Fudge

Some mares you find.

And some feel like they’ve been part of your program long before you ever owned them.

Fudge was that kind.

A Full Circle Kind of Mare

Fudge comes from the well-known and respected BNH Quarter Horses program — a program we’ve known and respected for a long time.

For Mike, that connection runs even deeper.

He grew up on the Brown Ranch in Whitlash, so bringing a mare like this into our program feels a little bit like things coming full circle.

And that matters.

Because we don’t just look at papers — we look at where horses come from, how they were raised, and what kind of programs produced them.

What She Is

Fudge is the kind of mare that’s easy to appreciate.

She’s got a kind eye, a willing attitude, and the kind of natural athletic ability you expect from her pedigree.

She’s balanced.
She’s correct.
And she carries herself the right way.

But more importantly — she fits.

The kind that blends into a program without forcing anything.

Pedigree Highlights

Fudge combines some of the most recognizable and proven cutting and cow horse bloodlines.

Her pedigree traces back to names like Playboy Del Cielo, Freckles Playboy, Smart Little Lena, and Meradas Cat — horses known for producing athletic ability, trainability, and strong cow sense.

But at the end of the day, we don’t rely on pedigree alone.

We expect the horse to match it.

And Fudge does.

Why She’s Here

We’re always looking to bring in outside mares that complement what we’re building — not change it.

Fudge adds:

  • Proven genetics
  • Athletic ability
  • And the kind of mind we expect to work with

She fills a role in our program that matters.

And she does it without trying too hard.

What We Expect

Based on her breeding, disposition, and the program she comes from, we expect Fudge to produce:

  • Trainable, willing minds
  • Athletic, capable individuals
  • Horses with natural cow sense
  • And the kind of build that holds up

The kind that are usable first — and everything else second.

Our Broodmare Philosophy

Our broodmares are expected to be broke to ride with real, proven time under saddle. That experience may come from our ranch program, previous owners, or performance training — but they must demonstrate rideability, willingness, and real-world usability.

We’ve put miles on our mares in real country — gathering, working cattle, long days, changing ground — so we know exactly what they’re like when it matters.

They have to meet the same standard as everything else here:
usable, good-minded, and built to last.

Fudge fits that standard and brings in a set of genetics that strengthens what we’re already doing.

Looking Ahead

Fudge is the kind of mare we’re excited about — not because we need her to be something different, but because she fits so well into what we already believe in.

And those are the ones that tend to matter the most.
