Tough, confident, and naturally cowy with exceptional disposition.
About Roy
Roy is a smaller horse who doesn’t know he’s small. He is tough, confident, and naturally athletic, with the kind of try and heart that makes him fun to ride and useful to have around.
He’s catty, quick-footed, and naturally cowy, with a lot of responsiveness and feel. What we appreciate most about him, though, is his mind. He stays the same every day you saddle him — whether he was ridden yesterday or has had time off. That kind of consistency matters to us, and it’s one of the reasons he’s such an important part of our program.
He’s cool, confident, and steady — maybe even just a touch cocky in the best way. Roy also has a ton of personality. He can be almost clown-like at times, curious and interactive, while still staying confident and very gentle. He handles new situations without drama and stays willing and cooperative, which makes him enjoyable to be around and to ride.
Disposition & What He Passes to His Foals
One of Roy’s strongest traits is his temperament, and we consistently see that carry into his foals. His babies tend to be gentle, curious, and people-oriented from the start, with the same willing attitude and confidence he has.
They are typically easy to handle, trainable, and good-minded — the kind of horses that form strong partnerships with their riders. His personality often comes through as well, producing foals that are interactive, kind, and enjoyable to be around.
Disposition matters to us, and Roy reliably passes it along.
Pedigree Highlights
Roy is sired by Starlight Midnight, a son of the legendary Grays Starlight, whose offspring have earned millions across multiple performance disciplines. This line is known for athletic ability, stop, and trainability.
On the maternal side, Roy traces back to Autumnator, a son of Smart Little Lena out of the famous mare Autumn Boon, one of the most influential producing mares in cutting horse history.
These are bloodlines known for both performance ability and long-term usability — traits we prioritize in our program.

Our Stallion Philosophy
Our stallions live and work together year-round as part of our ranch horse string and are only separated during breeding season. They are used regularly for ranch work alongside the rest of our horses, which we believe helps maintain sound minds, good dispositions, and long-term usability.
We’ve always believed stallions should stay horses first — useful, rideable, and mentally solid — and that approach has worked well for us.
Why We Stand Roy
We like practical horses — horses that stay sound, stay willing, and stay enjoyable to ride. Roy checks those boxes.
He represents the kind of horse we believe in: good-minded, athletic, and dependable. He consistently produces foals with the temperament and usability we want to continue in our program.
Horses like him are why we enjoy what we do.
Breeding Information
Roy is available to approved mares only. Our goal is to produce horses that fit the same standards we expect in our own program. If we wouldn’t breed a mare if she were in our string, we won’t accept her for outside breeding.
